Announcement of ICA Training courses
on
ToP, Social Artistry, HIV/AIDS & Community Development and Fundraising

Dhaka ICA is very pleased to announce its April 2009 training courses. This upcoming training program will train participants in methods called the Technology of Participation (ToP) developed by the ICA around the world and are recommended by many organisations in all sectors. In HIV/AIDS training, we wove a little Social Artistry, Imaginal Education, and ICA’s approach to HIV/AIDS. ICA methods are based on decades of cross-cultural research into human patterns of perception and experience. The approaches are highly effective for both community and organizational development.

The time you would need to invest is 6-15 April 2009. If you are interested in becoming a ToP Facilitator/Trainer/Planner, or even if you wish to develop further your knowledge and skill in ICA methods, we strongly urge you to seriously consider being a participant at this up-coming training program at subsidized rates as our facilitators are overseas volunteered having long track of experience in facilitation and community development. We are going to organize the training program at the Democracy watch, 7 Circuit House Road, Ramna, Dhaka.

The basic three-day course, called "Group Facilitation" includes focused conversation (ORID), Consensus Workshop and Action Planning, along with some other contextual and application stuff. Apart from a few brief presentations it mostly encompasses methods demonstration, reflection, exploration, preparation and practice. It is very full and tight time-wise with an extensive manual. The other course which we call "Participatory Strategic Planning (PSP)" is also two days and it is jam-packed, with presentations, tutorials, practice sessions (Vision, Issues, Directions, all participant led) and feedback as well as applications for Actions/Implementation workshops and for the whole four or five session workshop process. We could focus the PSP course on the type of thing people are most interested in, such as community meetings/village development or organizational planning.  We are also offering two-day training on “Social Artistry Basic”, four-day training on “Community Responses to HIV/AIDS”, and three-day training on “Community development methods, proposal writing and fundraising”. It should be mentioned here that the courses in April are designed in such a way that you can attend one-day course for each of the methods-ORID Method, Workshop Method, and Action Planning Method. Four-day training on “Community Responses to HIV/AIDS” is designed in a way those community responses to HIV/AIDS applying ToP and social artistry approaches. Since seats are limited that your earliest decision to attend would be appreciated.

We also offer some planning, consulting, and in-house training services for an organization, be they NGO (local, national or international), government department/agency or company/business. We could offer these services in April 2009 based on booking in advance.
